Products I’m Loving at the Moment

Right now I am suffering with a sinus infection so I am constantly blowing my nose. You can differently see the makeup missing around my nose not to mention the redness. There really isn’t anything I can do from preventing the makeup from disappearing but there are two products I can say have been doing a pretty good job of saving me.

Kristopher Buckle Power Lock Makeup Setting Spray
I received this spray for Christmas. I use this after I finish my makeup. I spray a few times all over my face and let it set. It doesn’t take too long before it dries up. I’ve noticed with this product my makeup last for hours. I’ve used this with two different foundations and end up with the same results. This so much better than Urban Decay.

Make Up For Ever Full Coverage Concealer

If your familiar with the brand then you know this is some serious stuff! Around mid-day I use the smallest dab I can to cover the redness around my nose. A extremely small amount goes a long way and last the rest of the day…if I’m not constantly blowing my nose.

Valentines Ideas for Him

This is going to sound sad but this is my first Valentines celebrating with someone. Yes, in my 30’s I have someone I can do the entire lovey dovey stuff with (although I consider myself the romantic one in the relationship). I want to do something very special for S and thanks to Pinterest I found the perfect idea! However there are so many ideas that are just as good, I thought I’d share them with you and maybe the one I am actually doing…maybe.

Love Note’s
Everyday give him a love note with different reasons why you love him or your favorite memory of you two together. So you’re not just giving him one card your giving him many. It’s a lot of work but I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.

Love Jar
You can write or type it but fill a jar with all the reasons why you love him. An example would be: ‘I love you because you’re there for me when I need you the most’ and/or ‘I love you when you call from work just to see how I am doing’. You can find a jar at Michael’s or at the dollar store for as low as a $1.

Candy Card
I actually did this for my aunt for her birthday. Grab a giant poster board and write a message using candy to describe the verbs. This can be kind of hard so you may have to go to a candy store for the hard words.

Make Your Own Card
Nothing is better than making your own card and I do this all time. I’ve made S ‘just because’ cards and holiday cards. Use Pinterest for ideas if you find it hard to think of one. Personally, I love this idea because I get to write what I want to express to him. You can write a quite, poem or stick a picture of you two in the card. Whatever you do it’s your own.

Snacks with Messages
I’ve done this, well kind of. I did give S some Reece’s with a note saying ‘I love you to pieces’. I’m sure you’ve seen this one! Grab some treats and start rhyming. Pinterest is great for this one!

Photo Album/Scrapbook
This will take some time but print out a bunch of pictures of you two and either put them in an album or scrapbook it. You can find material at the dollar store; you don’t have to head to Michael’s or Hobby Lobby to find colored paper and stickers.

Sweets
Homemade or store bought, it doesn’t matter it will be devoured before you know it. If your Valentine is like me and doesn’t like chocolate, try white chocolate or something with nuts or marshmallows. If you know that won’t work cookie or cupcakes. I am not really a fan of sweets but I do like anything with

An Over Due Return

It’s been months since I’ve written or thought about a blog post. I basically left the computer world from YouTube to Facebook; I needed a huge break. In that break I’ve traveled to Dublin and London, spent time with family and meet someone special. It’s been one interesting summer to say the least and now that fall has arrived (one of my favorite times of year), I’m ready to come back to blogging. I have so many topics to talk about! I haven’t yet decided how to schedule my post being that I started back in school, but they will be coming! I’m excited not only to come back from my break but also to see how the rest of the year will end. It can only get better!

Goals vs. Deadlines

When I think of deadlines I think of rushing, impatience and challenges. While it’s good to have deadlines sometimes, it can also be draining mentally to try to complete them before a certain time. After talking to my best friend about her relationship, she told me she mentally gave her boyfriend a deadline of when she needs to be engaged. Knowing she has a deadline made me think; do I need deadlines? Should I even consider a deadline? Do I need a deadline in my relationship? All these came to one answer: no.

In the past I’ve given myself a deadline such as graduating college by 35 and that hasn’t happened so I decided to stop giving myself deadlines. Instead I decided to have goals, something to reach and strive for. A couple of goals I have are to get my degree in English Literature, to one day write a book, and to just be happy. Life is difficult enough without all the pressure of a ‘deadline’. I see the pros and cons of having a deadline as well as goals but it’s better than having nothing at all.

Deciding what’s right for you is your decision and no one else’s. It’s a decision I don’t take lightly. Sometimes you can’t rush what you want… it comes when it comes. You can’t force something either…it will happen if it’s meant to be. Regardless if you decide that you rather have a deadline or a goal it’s something to strive for. One of my other goals was to start a blog and what do you know.
